Videographer And Digital Photographer

The City of Midland is seeking a skilled Videographer and Digital Photographer to capture and produce high-quality visual content for various city projects and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
* Capture and edit video footage and digital photographs to support city communication efforts, including events, programs, and campaigns.
* Collaborate with city departments to understand their visual content needs and objectives.
* Manage and maintain video and photography equipment.
* Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance the quality and impact of visual content.
Video/Photography Production
* Serve as the city's official digital photographer with provided equipment.
* Produce original video content for and web/social.
* Serve as a secondary city videographer for cinematic projects
* Content creator for events and department projects.
* Ensure recording of all City Council Meetings via Swagit video system.
* Produce content for video information videoboards and TV within in City Hall and other City Facilities.
* Produce audio recordings for the City.
Strategic Communication Department
* Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients.
* Serve as back-up to the Strategic Communications Officer: answer phone calls from media, transmit information in accordance with guidelines and standards, follow chain of command notification, and create press releases.
* Actively participate in strategic and task-specific communication planning.
* Ability to be on call some weekends on a rotating schedule
Graphic Design
* Assist the in-house graphic designer with overall look and feel for branding of the City of Midland
* General knowledge of Graphic Design
Ability to sit, stand and move from building to building.
* Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition and After Effects.
* Understanding of audio and video codecs; green screen/rotoscoping.
* Proficiency using video, audio, lighting, and photography equipment.
* Ability to write, edit, and/or manipulate HTML/HTML 5, PHP and Java Script.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Proficiency in video pre-production, concept, scripting, post-production and motion graphics.
* Ability to work in Windows/OSX and Linux based systems.
* Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Ability to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Texas.
* FAA licensure to operate drone and drone videography experience is preferred. Willingness to become licensed by the FAA to operate a drone is a must, if not licensed.
* Bachelor's degree in mass media, marketing, broadcasting, communications, journalism, graphic design, or a related field required.
